when your pet was using a post operative (buster collar) how many of you had problems at feeding time?
Hi I’d like to know what problems you encountered feeding your pet wearing elizabethan, post operative collars. Thanks
Feeding time was a torture for me. I had to take the collar off my dog so that she could get near her bowl and as soon as it was off she would rip the bandage off her broken leg. It cost me several embarrassing return visits to the vets. Indeed my dog is still fondly referred to as ‘Houdini’ by the surgery staff. Thankfully a friend presented me with the perfect solution in the form of a slightly elevated, tilted dog bowl which meant that my dog could eat while still wearing the collar.
