Does anybody know how many dogs die from Canine Parvovirus each year?
Any statistics would be great, especially if they’re for the USA.
I do not know the exact number but it is way too many. That is why puppies should not go for walks or parks until they are at least 18 weeks old and have had ALL of their shots. If a puppy comes in contact with an area where a dog has pooped and had parvo, even if the poop is gone the puppy can still get parvo. This is even if the poop was there as long as a year ago. Only if the area was cleaned with bleach would it be some what safe. This information came from my vet. We have 3 labs and 1 Basset and I fully trust my vet and her information.
I know this is not the answer you were looking for. I did think it was a good way to spread the news about the devastation of parvo.
