Huge Range
Is vocal range really that important?
I have a solid range from A2 to F4, and sometimes I can get it to be G2 to G4, but I sometimes find myself obsessed with increasing my range. But is it really that important? I mean, I know pop-singers have crazy huge ranges, but isn’t music and singing all about what you do with your voice and not just how big your range is? I just want to stop obsessing over it because it makes me not enjoy singing like I used to. What do you think?
Vocal range isn’t very important. The most important thing when it comes to singing is to know how to use your particular kind of vocal type. Once you learn how to master your particular voice, you can pretty much nail any kind of song meant to be performed by someone with your kind of voice. That is very liberating and really allows you to learn what you can and can not do.
