what’s the best method (effectivness & cost) of eliminating insects from backyard ( ie. zapper/magnet)?
any brand suggestions would be apprectiated
Zappers and black light traps kill thousands of night flying moths and beetles but very few pest species – they’re a waste of time but continue to impress homeowners who think any bug is a bad bug. They actually do more harm then good – see the links.
Insecticides work for a while but do you really want to spread toxins all over the spot where you live? If you have children or pets, I would be especially careful.
If you have a problem with specific bugs, find out what they are by contacting your State University’s Cooperative Extension and get some realistic advice.
