Miniature Pinscher
Does anyone know the best and effective way to discipline a miniature pinscher?
I just got a miniature pinscher puppy. She is female, and 8 weeks old. She is kind of nippy and i dont know what would be the best way in stopping her from doing this. She gets excited and licks our faces, but then kind of nips at our cheeks, hands whichever. She isnt being mean, just playing. So any info would be much appreciated. I’ve heard firm.. but gentle leadership. How do i be firm, but gentle at the same time?
You discipline your dog the same way as any other dog what ever the breed.
When she gets excited and nips, you make a loud ( well timed) OUCH, wait silently for a few seconds before resuming play.
Don’t allow her to lick your face, you are not a dog and this is what pups do to their mums to get them to regurgitate food for them and don’t put your fingers in her mouth ( and I say this because I have watched people do it while they tell me they don’t), she will be teething so offer her a cold raw carrot from the fridge to chew on…..fingers are off the menu
