Schnauzer Dog
Can you teach a 7 yr old male Schnauzer dog to stop barking?
He barks incessantly when owner is preparing to leave my house till they are in the car and leaving. Also when they are arriving I hear him half a block away. It is not the only time the owner has a problem as he will arc up at the slightest opportunity with people walking past house, postie, garbage truck and any other vehicles arriving at the house. I hope someone can help as it is driving me insane.
The shock collar or the surgery are good advice, but if you think that those are cruel ideas, they make a collar that sprays a scent that dogs HATE. We got 1 for our Shepherd/Retriver mix that barks at EVERYTHING! He was 9 when we got it for him…if we take it off of him he starts the barking again…but while it is on it works!
